David Wood

David Wood has spent more than 20 years envisioning, architecting, implementing, supporting, and avidly using smart mobile devices: ten years with PDA manufacturer Psion PLC, and more than ten years as an executive with smartphone operating system specialist Symbian.

His background includes: many years building and integrating UI system software and application frameworks in 16-bit and 32-bit versions of "EPOC" software (later named "Symbian OS"); growing and directing the technical consulting teams that worked with leading phone manufacturers to create the world's first successful smartphones; and defining and running development programs to stimulate and nurture the Symbian partner ecosystem.

He was heavily involved in preparations and planning for the open source Symbian Foundation, and served on its Leadership Team as "Catalyst and Futurist". He is now Principal of Delta Wisdom, an independent consultancy that aims to provide "intelligence for profound change". He sees significantly improved usability as fundamental to unlocking the full transformational potential of smart mobile technology.

Eric Collins

Eric is known in the Mobile community for his leadership of one of the world's most successful software companies, Tegic Communications makers of T9. Before becoming GM of Tegic while focused on worldwide Sales, Marketing and Business Development, product shipments grew to 5 billion units and revenues escalated from $25M to just under $100M annually. While GM of Tegic, he launched the successful XT9 products (for multi-modal text input especially on non-12 key devices), as well as T9 Nav (for on and off device search), and the 100th language for T9. Eric has been busy over the last 3 years continuing to grow revenue by 20% annually and successfully selling the company on behalf of TimeWarner to Nuance Communications. During his 2.5 years at Nuance, Eric led the acquisition of Zi Communications, nCore and 3 other input technology companies that accelerated Tegic's product development.

Before leaving Nuance at the end of 2009, Eric headed marketing for all Nuance mobile products. Nuance is currently executing the strategy Eric spearheaded to triple Tegic revenues in 36 months. He launched DTC offerings worldwide across multiple platforms, he overhauled the marketing function, he initiated Nuance's mobile social media strategy and headed M&A for mobile acquisitions.

Eric received his AB from Princeton University where he majored in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. Eric received his JD from Harvard Law School. Eric sits on the boards of several technology companies and civic associations. He is currently a trustee of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

Before coming to wireless software, Eric was a strategy consulting partner with CMI in Cambridge, MA and founding managing partner of its spin-off, ThoughtBridge which focused on strategy consulting for high stakes transactions (mergers, alliances, public/preivate partnerships, labor-management negotiations, etc.). Eric capped his consulting career by spinning-off an internet CRM company, speedsolve, in 1999.

Eric's professional career history is rounded off with the launch of a movie production company with friends from law school called Sweaty Palm Productions.
